Flutter Entertainment, the parent company of U.S. betting giant, Fanduel, will spend $2.6B to acquire an Italian gambling company, Snaitech. The company just bought a majority stake in Brazilian gambling platform, NSX Group, last week.
Italy’s gambling market is of special interest to Flutter considering its move to regulation. The company views it as having U.K.-esque potential post-regulation.
Snaitech has 1,600 gambling shops in addition to online poker and casino games.
While Flutter expands to international markets, its American competitor, DraftKings, remains a homebody.
